The 5A Jefferson County League Championships were held this past Thursday at Clement Park and the Pomona Panthers showed up ready run faster than their last visit to Clement Park. The girls started things off being led by Mary Mansfield running over a minute faster than the last time, placing 39th and running 23:01. Following closely behind Mary was Rylie Dix coming in 46th running 24:08. Packing up nicely would be Amanda Gurule in 51st place (25:28), Melia McSherry in 52nd (25:33), Christine Mansfield in 54th (26:53), Ashley Basset in 55th (27:24), and Alyona Filatova in 56th (29:40). Also running well for the girls would be Ashley Ewing, running 27:57. The girls would please 8th as a team.

The boys showed up as well, running a combined time of 4:00 minutes faster as a team than last time at Clement Park. Malachi Blaszkowski ran well to place 31st in a time of 18:30. Following up Blaszkowski would be Cody Ohlson in 39th (18:51), Cristian Buckner in 47th (19:37), Salvador Vialpando in 50th (20:17), Dylan Vanderveen in 51st (20:21), Thomas White in 53rd (21:07), and Andrew Repasy in 55th (22:06). The boys as a team would place 7th in the league.

The team takes their top 7 athletes on both sides to the Regional Championships in Highlands Ranch this coming Thursday the 20th. The team looks to make a move and qualify for the State Championships.
